Periods are an individual experience that vary from person to person. All of these answers are personal experiences that have been collected from people who menstruate, illustrating the huge variety of menstrual experiences. None of the facts provided contain medical advice or information. If you have any worries about your period or menstrual cycle you should always contact a medical professional.

Whilst most people who participated in this conversation were cis-women who menstruate, we must remember that this cannot and does not tell the story of everyone’s experiences. Anyone with a uterus can experience menstruation no matter how they identify. Trans men, non-binary folks and gender-diverse people all menstruate yet are so often excluded from conversations and support. More so, not all cis-women menstruate due to a variety of factors including menopause, and are also excluded from conversations and support. This is important to reflect on whilst reading these conversations.
